Our Story

Ursula and Leon met the night of December 29th, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic. Ursula was spending part of a gap year prior to college as an intern at a publishing company in Prague. On her last day in the city, a mutual friend introduced her to Leon, who was visiting from Georgia.

Later that night, they said their goodbyes — Ursula returning to New York, Leon to Georgia. They remained in contact, however, and soon were texting every day, saying good morning and goodnight, despite the nine-hour time difference.

As the years went on, their friendship deepened into something more. In April 2023, they shared their feelings with one another. That September, they returned to Prague and became a couple.

They met again in Prague the following year, and in August 2024, Leon proposed. That December, Ursula’s parents met Leon in Prague, where he asked for their blessing.

One year and many preparations later, they were married at Oneonta City Hall with close family in attendance. After some time to settle in, they now look forward to celebrating with family and friends.

After more than seven years of friendship, three years of courtship, and ten months of marriage, Ursula and Leon are happier than ever and excited to begin this new chapter together.
